China
Since October 2000, Cross-Cultural Solutions' volunteers have had the opportunity to experience the people and rich culture of China. Our volunteers teach English in community schools and at a local community service center. Duties vary slightly with each placement, but the emphasis will be placed on conversational English with students at the primary and secondary levels.

This program offers a unique opportunity to help build a solid foundation for mutual understanding and cultural exchange between volunteers and the Chinese people. click here for more info

To spend your spare time with people you don’t even know. What would be your first thought? Probably “How much do they pay? For students in Thailand the question is probably: Where do I have to sign?

But here is the whole story! ......

"Mobile Elephant Clinic Project"

Mobile Elephant Clinic Project Volunteer at phuket dot com

100 years ago there were at least 100,000 elephants in Thailand, now sadly that number has dropped to about 5,000 (2,000 in the wild and 3,000 in captivity) and the population is still estimated to be falling at over 3% a year.

Something must be done to stop this decline or there will be very few elephants left in the future.
