Join us on Saturday, June 8th from 10am - 2pm in City Heights at
the Urban Village Performance Annex - 3795 Fairmount Avenue between
Landis Ave. and Wightman Ave. - for the City Heights Health Celebration.
The American
Association of Health Plans (AAHP) and its members including Roche,
and PacifiCare will be joined by the San Diego Convention &
Visitors Bureau to ³cut the ribbon² for the inaugural event of this
model program in the City Heights Community of San Diego. This event
features health screenings for residents including:
• Diabetes
• Cholesterol
• Body Fat
• Depression
• Hypertension/Blood Pressure
Also Available: Sign-up for health coverage for individuals
and families through La Maestra Family Clinic and Mid-City Community
Clinic.
Free food and
beverages will be provided along with arts & entertainment for
children and adults courtesy of the San Diego Children's Museum.
150 - 200 American
Association of Health Plans (AAHP) members will volunteer to support
the community organizations as they provide the health screenings,
and offer educational materials and demonstrations to an expected
2,000 plus community residents.
Translation
for Spanish, Vietnamese, Lao, Tagalog, Amharic, Arabic, Nur Somali,
will be provided by La Maestra Clinic.
